  James M. Preston, President and Founder of Preston Financial Management, Inc., has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years. Jim was a registered representative for A.G. Edwards and Edward Jones before making the decision to become an Independent Financial Advisor in 2005. He is affiliated with Cambridge Investment Research.

  Jim made the decision to become an independent financial advisor because he felt that this structure best allowed him to position his services and advice in line with his client’s needs. He felt it was the only way to give his clients truly objective advice. He prides himself on being free from ties to banks, Wall Street Brokerage Houses or proprietary products.

Prior to becoming a Registered Representative, Jim was a financial analyst at several Fortune 500 companies. He also worked as an analyst and commercial officer at a large Regional Bank.

  Jim graduated From Oakland University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, with a concentration in accounting. He earned an MBA degree in 1985 from Washington University. He currently holds Series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial. He is registered and serving clients in AZ, CA, CO, FL, MD, MI, MO, VA and WY.

  Jim is married to Wendy; they have 6 children and 8 grandchildren. Jim and Wendy are avid golfers. Jim has hit three holes-in-one. On the weekends during the fall they follow the Michigan Wolverine football team.
